Refer-a-Friend Program – Terms & Conditions

Offer Requirements
The New Member (Friend) or the Referring Member must submit a completed Refer-a-Friend form within 90 days of the New Member opening their account. The Referring Member and New Member may not establish membership on the same day.

New Member Eligibility
This offer is available to new Banner Federal Credit Union (BFCU) members who:

  • Are 18 years of age or older

  • Have a valid U.S. Taxpayer Identification Number or Social Security Number

  • Meet BFCU membership eligibility and credit qualification requirements

Bonus Requirements

To receive the $100 bonus, both the New Member and Referring Member must meet the following requirements:

New Member must:

  • Open a Primary Savings account with a $25 minimum deposit and pay the $10 one-time membership fee

  • Open a checking account

  • Within the first 90 calendar days of account opening:

    1. Complete at least 30 posted transactions (excluding BFCU-assessed fees) on the new checking account

    2. Establish and receive at least one direct deposit totaling $500 or more

The account must remain open and may not be negative for more than 30 days at the time the bonus is paid.

Referring Member must:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of referral

  • Have an active Primary Savings account that was opened prior to the New Member’s account opening date

Bonus Payment
Bonuses will be deposited no later than 10 business days in the month following the completion of the New Member’s 90-day qualification period, provided all requirements have been met. The bonus will be deposited into:

  • The New Member’s qualifying checking account

  • The Referring Member’s Membership Savings account

Bonuses are considered interest, are subject to applicable taxes, and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT. Members are responsible for any tax liability.
